Timber fire protection in Kyiv and Ukraine

We treat timber structures after assessing the wood type, moisture level, surface condition and operating environment.

KABO GROUP reviews the available information, prepares an agreed technical scope and completes the work with the defined documentation.

Practical guide

System details and solution selection

How the solution is selected

We assess the building use, protected area, fire risks, existing engineering services and the required performance before agreeing the technical solution.

What affects scope and cost

The estimate reflects system size, equipment or materials, access conditions, interfaces, commissioning and the completion documents agreed for the project.

From survey to handover

KABO GROUP can survey, design, supply, install, test and hand over the system, followed by planned maintenance where required.

Quality control and handover

During application we record material batches, substrate preparation, ambient conditions, consumption and intermediate measurements. Coatings are checked for thickness, continuity and adhesion; boards and penetration seals are checked as complete tested assemblies.

Handover may include work records, concealed-work records, area drawings, inspection protocols, material documentation and maintenance guidance. The exact package is agreed in the contract and design.

Impregnation, coatings and construction solutions

Timber may be treated with impregnation, varnish, paint or protective encasement. The method depends on species, section size, moisture, surface access, exposure and the required fire performance.

Application follows moisture checks and substrate preparation. Impregnation is controlled by consumption and uptake; coatings by layer count, continuity and compatibility with decorative finishes.

Inspection and retreatment

Fire-treated timber requires periodic condition assessment, particularly in damp, unheated or exposed areas. Damage, leaching, redecoration or structural repairs may affect performance.

Records identify the product, consumption, areas, application date and inspection conditions. Reinspection or retreatment intervals follow product documentation and actual condition.

Regulatory basis

Regulations and standards considered

This list explains the regulatory basis but is not a substitute for a project or a complete schedule for every building. Document status, amendments and building-specific requirements are verified when the project starts.

FAQ

Common questions

When can application begin?+

After moisture, surface cleanliness and product compatibility have been checked.

How does the work begin?+

We start with the available information, a site survey and an agreed technical brief.

What determines the cost?+

Cost depends on floor area, building configuration, system scope, access conditions and the required completion documents.
